If redeeming Qantas Points for Emirates First Class is on your bucket list, time is running out to lock in the current rates.
What is Changing
From 31 March 2026, Qantas is increasing the points required for Emirates reward seats. First Class redemptions jump by around 20% across the board.
Melbourne to London in Emirates First Class is one of the hardest hit. A one-way redemption climbs from 249,400 Qantas Points to 299,300 points. Same flight, same seat, almost 50,000 more points.
Why This Matters
Points devaluations like this are rarely reversed. Once the new rates kick in, that gap is gone. If you have the points and Emirates First Class is something you have been putting off, booking before 31 March locks in significantly better value.
Book Now or Pay More Later
This is one of those rare cases where acting early has a clear, measurable benefit. Check your Qantas Points balance, price up the redemption, and make the call before the deadline.
