Raffles Hotel Singapore

Breakfast this morning was included in the room rate and was served on the balcony on the same level as the pool – so 58 stories up overlooking the ocean – it was amazing!  After breakfast we wanted to do some more shopping so jumped on the MRT to Little India and the Mustafa Centre.  Here they had literally anything you can buy – cosmetics, clothing, toiletries, electronics, toys, luggage, EVERYTHING!  Some were good quality, some, not so good so it pays to look around.  We also had a look at some other shopping centres in the area and then had some Indian food to eat for lunch, which was very nice!

During the early afternoon we needed to cool down so it was back to Marina Bay Sands and the infinity pool!  We caught up with another couple who were on the ship and we gave each other some tips on what we had seen and done so far in Singapore.  They suggested we check out Bugis Street which has a market and is good for souvenirs, so that’s where we went next.

There was a massive storm approaching and it rained on and off for most of the afternoon.  We also explored some of the other local landmarks including the famous Raffles Hotel which you can see in the picture above.  On the way back to the MRT we stopped and had dinner at another hawker market, although this time, a lot of the stalls were B’s and even C’s, although we still managed to find something that interested us, and we didn’t get sick!

We caught the MRT back to the hotel and went up to the pool deck again to take some photos at night of the surrounding landmarks and the sound and light show that was going on along the bay below us.  We got to bed fairly early – the weather really takes it out of you when you aren’t used to the heat and humidity.
