Here is what to expect inside one of Singapore’s most extraordinary structures.
The Dinosaurs Are ‘Real‘
Dinosaurs are placed throughout the greenery inside the dome, adding a genuinely fun and unexpected element to what is already a visually spectacular space. It catches most visitors off guard in the best possible way.
The Centrepiece
The focal point is a massive indoor mountain covered entirely in plants and waterfalls. It is hard to appreciate the scale from photos until you are standing inside looking up at it. Check the misting schedule before you visit. When the mist activates it completely transforms the atmosphere inside the dome, one of those moments that is genuinely better experienced in person than described.
Practical Things to Know Before You Go
The dome has multiple levels connected by stairs and elevators, with some sections at significant height. If anyone in your group is not comfortable with heights it is worth being aware of before heading to the upper levels.
Like the Flower Dome next door, the Cloud Forest is fully air conditioned. In Singapore’s climate that is a genuine relief and makes it a particularly good option for the middle of the day when the outdoor heat is at its peak.
The Engineering is Worth Appreciating
Both domes are extraordinary structures. Standing inside them gives you a real sense of how ambitious the entire Gardens by the Bay project was to build. Even without the plants and features, the spaces themselves are remarkable.
