Da Nang is one of Vietnam’s most visited cities. These three stops give you a feel for the place and show you why the city earns the attention.

Da Nang Cathedral (The Pink Church)

You can’t miss it. Bright pink French colonial architecture sitting right in the middle of the city, topped with a rooster weathervane that gives it one of its local nicknames. Go late afternoon when the light hits the facade at its best. It’s a quick stop but one of the most photographed spots in Da Nang for good reason.

Han Market

Han Market is where locals actually shop. Fresh produce, street snacks, seafood, clothing and souvenirs spread across a busy indoor market a short walk from the waterfront. It’s not a tourist trap, it’s a working market, and the food options alone make it worth the visit. Go hungry and try whatever looks good at the stalls near the entrance.

Dragon Bridge

The Dragon Bridge spans the Han River and works well any time of day, but the weekend night shows are the reason most people make the trip. On Friday and Saturday nights the dragon breathes real fire and water from its mouth, drawing large crowds along both sides of the riverbank. Get there well before the show starts to claim a good spot. The bridge is free to view from the riverside and the atmosphere on a busy night is hard to beat.

How to Sequence the Day

The cathedral and Han Market pair well together as a morning or early afternoon run since they’re both central and close to each other. Save the Dragon Bridge for a weekend evening and you’ve covered three very different experiences across a single day in Da Nang without wasting time doing extra travel.
