Most visitors to Singapore stick to the usual spots. East Coast Park is worth knowing about and genuinely underrated.

What You Can Do There

The park sits along the eastern coastline and packs in more than most people expect. Swimming at the beach is the obvious starting point, with toilet and change facilities right on site. Hire a bike and cruise the coastal path at your own pace, or head to Singapore Wake Park for wakeboarding and waterskiing without needing a boat.

Feeling adventurous? You can camp and and picnic directly in the park, which is a side of Singapore most tourists never experience.

Food Sorted

When you are ready to eat, East Coast Lagoon Food Village is right there by the water. Classic hawker food in an open air setting, exactly the kind of meal Singapore does better than almost anywhere else.

The Crocodile Warning Signs

These signs are not decorative. Crocodiles have been spotted in and around the park, so the signs are worth taking seriously. It adds a certain edge to what is otherwise a very relaxed day out.

Getting There

The Thomson-East Coast Line on the MRT drops you close to the park, or take a Grab directly to the entrance. Either way it is an easy trip from the city centre.
