The Highlights That Made the Trip Worth It
Bali delivered plenty of standout moments. Seminyak had some excellent massages, while Canggu impressed with its cafes and restaurants at nearly every turn. Sundays Beach Club was a particular highlight, with good food, an amazing sunset and a spot right on the beach that made it easy to lose track of time.
Seminyak for Relaxation
If relaxation is the priority, Seminyak is worth building time into your itinerary for. The massages and day spa experiences here stood out even against other destinations, making it an easy place to slow down after a day of sightseeing.
Canggu for Food and Atmosphere
Canggu’s food scene was a genuine highlight of the trip, with cafes and restaurants that consistently delivered. It’s the kind of area where you can wander without much of a plan and still end up somewhere great for a meal.
The One Thing That Changed the Whole Trip
Despite all of that, the traffic in Bali was on another level compared to anywhere else visited. Short trips that should have taken minutes stretched on far longer than expected, and it wore us down more than any other destination we’ve travelled to. That alone is enough to make a return trip a hard sell.
Was It the Location or Bali as a Whole?
It’s worth asking whether the traffic issues were tied to where we stayed specifically, or whether it’s a wider problem across the island. Different areas of Bali may handle traffic very differently depending on how built up they are and how far apart the main attractions sit.
